ZeroNorth has introduced a series of updates to its bunker planning and pricing products as it continues to focus its bunker offering on planning, procurement and pricing, and on connecting fuel decisions more closely with voyage operations.
More context behind every price indication
In ZeroNorth Pricer, customers can now see additional context behind price indications, including the level of physical market activity supporting a price, market volatility and, where sufficient data is available, the observed price range.
The development is intended to give those buying bunkers a clearer view of the reliability of a price indication.
Fleet planning, run automatically overnight
ZeroNorth is also further integrating bunker planning into its procurement workflow. The updated capability is currently being trialled with a first customer and is not yet available across the full customer base.
In the trial, the planning capability runs automatically across the fleet overnight, producing updated plans and prioritising vessels according to upcoming bunker requirements. The capability also incorporates contract pricing and more detailed tank constraints, including whether fuel can be mixed in individual tanks.
“We are excited to share two significant steps forward in how we support our customers. By bringing deeper context to our price indications in ZeroNorth Pricer, we aim to provide bunker buyers with the transparency they need to make decisions with greater confidence. Simultaneously, our trial of automated, overnight fleet planning is a promising development that integrates procurement more closely with vessel requirements. While we are still in the early stages, we believe these tools represent strong momentum in our journey to make fuel decision-making more intelligent, efficient, and reliable for the maritime industry.”

One offering for planning, procurement and pricing
Following the acquisitions of ClearLynx and Prosmar, ZeroNorth has over time brought bunker planning, procurement and pricing capabilities together, enabling customers to plan purchases, assess the market and execute procurement within a more integrated offering. The platform today covers more than 50 million tonnes of bunker transactions.
Over time, ZeroNorth intends to connect these capabilities more closely with voyage optimisation. Changes in route, schedule, consumption or fuel prices can alter the optimal bunker plan, creating an opportunity to assess voyage and fuel decisions together.
What comes next
The company is also developing further automation within bunker procurement, including automatically extracting information from supplier offers and tools that can use historical procurement data to support buyers during negotiations.
In the coming months, these capabilities will also begin to feed into Propel by ZeroNorth, the company’s agentic partner for maritime, enabling greater automation across fuel and voyage decisions.
