ZeroNorth appoints new CCO to further strengthen market position and customer relations

News: Niels

We are very excited to announce the appointment of Niels Snog, former VP of Global Sales, to the position of Chief Commercial Officer at ZeroNorth.

Niels joined ZeroNorth in early 2022, bringing with him 20 years of experience from the shipping industry and a wealth of knowledge around facilitating global expansion, managing global partnerships, merging companies, and fine-tuning go-to-market strategies. Before joining ZeroNorth, Niels acted as Global CCO in Wrist Ship Supply, driving partnerships with big shipowners and ship management companies. Prior to this Niels was responsible for developing SeaStar Management, a new business division inside Wrist Ship Supply, and later led the merger of the company and Garretts International, where he delivered a successful integration and global go-to-market strategy as CEO.

In his new role as CCO, Niels’ most important task will be to continue to build on the strong bonds between ZeroNorth and its customers: “From the moment we engage with prospective customers, to they’re fully up and running on the platform, we want them to know and feel that ZeroNorth is much more than a technology provider - we are a partner to our customers who knows how to help our them achieve their commercial and environmental goals. Our success as a company is intrinsically linked to our ability to help our customers successfully optimise, to increase earnings and reduce emissions”, Niels explains.

“We have built a unified, market leading platform that connects our customers’ previously siloed departments, offering visibility, collaboration and better decision making across chartering, operations and from ship to shore. It’s my responsibility to ensure our customers see the potential and opportunities that might have previously been obscured due to fragmented workflows”, he continues.

And the goal stretches far beyond earnings and emission reductions in the near-term. As the energy landscape becomes increasingly complex and volatile, to Niels, it’s imperative that ZeroNorth’s customers are ready for the big changes on the horizon.

“We want to make sure our customers see optimal results with ZeroNorth immediately because we believe it will pave the way for a softer landing in the new reality facing the industry. With new types of green fuel inevitably being more costly, lowering your consumption and making sure you have enough capital to facilitate the transition is crucial. We want to ensure our customers obtain an impact today, while preparing for tomorrow.”

Niels was initially drawn to ZeroNorth because of the company’s vision of consolidating optimisations across marine operations in one effortless experience, and bringing about a greener future for the shipping industry. And his enthusiasm has not dwindled. He is very much looking forward to expanding the business, in new regional markets and across new services areas, as well as supporting more prospective ZeroNorth customers on their path to decarbonise with the mission to make global trade green.
