Blackpool has been chosen to host the 2008 National Veterans Event. A programme of events has been designed to provide an exciting range of activities appealing to members of the Armed Forces, their families and friends, as well as the wider public.
This package includes three nights Bed & Breakfast in Quality Plus Guest Accommodation. Prices for this fantastic family experience start at £290 per family, based on two adults and two children under 12.
Events planned during these dates include:-
Aero GP (Grand Prix)
Seen for the first time in the UK, Aero GP is an exciting new air race. To mark National Veterans Day, the pilots, many of whom are veterans themselves, will race and perform demonstrations of dog fighting and target bombing. The weekend event would be unlike any other air race in the UK, with multi-aircraft, high speed action.
Night Time Parachute Drop & Fireworks Display
An illuminated, night time parachute drop is planned followed by a spectacular firework display. An element of the display includes the raising of national flags recreated in fireworks, to represent the international veterans associations, providing a stunning grand finale to the event.
